Well, iOS 11 has come up with some really interesting improvements and updates. From redesigned control center to the new App Store, there have been significant changes. But in the due process, some iOS 10 features are no longer available on iOS 11.
Here’s a list to give you more clarity:
1. No Native Social Media Integration
iOS 11 has removed native sharing integration for apps like Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, and Flickr. You will not be able to connect to your social media platforms by using default details. You will have to connect via the official applications.
2. No Support for 32-bits Apps
Apple has finally removed the support for 32-bit apps. So, if you try to download an app from App Store, it will not download. It will now show you an error message.
To check the compatibility of the apps installed on your device, go to Settings > General > App Compatibility.
3. iCloud Drive App replaced with Files
iOS 11 comes with a new Files app which replaces the iCloud Drive application from your phone. It is actually a good thing as it supports third-party apps such as Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
4. No Home & Now Playing panels in Control Center
Both, Home & Now Playing panels have been removed and they are now available in the single-page control center.
5. No Control Center Gesture in iPad
On an iPad, if you swipe up from the bottom of the screen, App Switcher appears in place of Control Center. Control Center panels are now directly integrated into the App Switcher.
6. No 2-pane widgets in iPad
On iPads, 2-pane widgets are no longer available. In both portrait as well as landscape mode, you will see a single column at the center.
7. No Swiping Up to Close feature on iPad
On iPad, if you swipe up to close an app in iOS 11, it does not. It redirects you to App Switcher where you have to hold on to an application till it shows an X button and you tap on it. It is somewhat similar to uninstalling an app from Home Screen.
So, these were a few features that we found out that iOS 11 has removed. Is there something that we have missed? Feel free to drop us a text. We would love to hear from you.
